New Smyrna Beach is full of small town charm. It’s a fun beachside town with a big spirit, and it is loaded with terrific attractions and events throughout the year. However, the holidays in New Smyrna Beach are particularly special. In fact, they are magical.
The Little Theatre performs live holiday shows; there are miraculous appearances by Santa in Christmas Park; and festive holiday tours take place throughout the historic district. Marching bands, dance troupes, horses and floats decorated for the holidays fill the streets during the Christmas Parade on land. By sea, boats glide through the waterways adorned with Christmas lights and decorated for the season in their own evening parade.
Thousands of holiday lights are turned on at the annual “Lighting up Flagler” event. Visitors can enjoy the lighting ceremony, as well as beautiful storefront decorations, strolling carolers, holiday refreshments, live performances and special holiday discounts and sales. There is also something we like to call “Last Night, First Day at the Beach” in NSB. It’s crammed with a series of fun events from after Christmas Day until New Year’s Day. There is a citywide music festival, sidewalk sales, fireworks and more! Then take in the New Year’s Eve Fireworks on Flagler, followed by celebrations at eight different locations!
