If you enjoy racing, New Smyrna Speedway is a half-mile track with NASCAR Whelen All-American Series races every Saturday night and Quarter Midgets on a smaller infield track every Friday night.
Surrounded by water on three sides, New Smyrna Beach is also the perfect place for sea lovers. You can tour our country’s most diverse estuary via boat, kayak or on foot at the Marine Discovery Center or take a two-hour narrated Turtle Mound River Tour, where you can see dolphin, manatees and beautiful views of the Canaveral Seashore.
If history is your thing, visit the Old Fort Park Archeological Site – an 18th Century settlement; Sugar Mill Ruins – razed by the Seminoles in 1830; or the New Smyrna Museum of History – housed in what was the local post office in 1923. Or climb the 203 steps of Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse, the largest lighthouse in Florida, and then visit its museum for a glimpse into turn-of-the-century life and to learn what it was like to live and work as a lighthouse keeper.
Then, try one of the well-equipped New Smyrna Beach Escape Rooms on Canal Street; enjoy plenty of seaside shopping, including the Beachside Candy Shop on Flagler; or rent bikes, kayaks, paddleboards and more!
Of course, don’t forget the nearby attractions, such as Disney World, Epcot Center, Universal Studios, Daytona International Speedway, Kennedy Space Center and the historic city of St. Augustine.
